Refund Policy

Effective date: August 27, 2026 · Part of our Terms of Service

The short version: your $1.99 buys the #1 spot, and being displaced by the next buyer is how the product works for everyone. If your listing went live at #1 — even for one second — the purchase is final. We refund you only when the listing was never displayed because of our own fault.

1. The only refunds

  1. Moderation rejection refund: if we reject your listing after payment (for example, for impersonation), it was never displayed — you receive an automatic full refund of your $1.99.
  2. Never-displayed refund: if a technical failure on our side keeps your listing from ever going live, you may request a full refund regardless of timing.
  3. How to ask: email support@bidyourstartup.com with your payment confirmation or the email address you used. We aim to process approved refunds within [REFUND-PROCESSING-DAYS-TBD] business days, back to your original payment method via our processor.

2. Once displayed, purchases are final

  1. There will be NO refund if the website/business is listed successfully but replaced by another — EVEN AFTER ONE SECOND. The moment your listing has been displayed at #1, the placement service has been delivered: your listing was shown at the top, your reign was timed publicly, and every second banked toward the Day/Week/Month crowns and hall-of-fame record.
  2. We do not offer refunds because you were displaced — regardless of how long or short your reign was. Being displaced is how the product works for everyone: the #1 spot always belongs to the most recent purchaser.
  3. We may still issue refunds outside this policy as a goodwill gesture, at our sole discretion; a goodwill refund once is not a promise to do it again.
  4. This is not an absolute “no refunds” policy, and nothing here waives any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under applicable law.

3. Worked examples

  1. You pay $1.99 and reign at #1 for 1 second before the next buyer displaces you. Your listing was displayed successfully → no refund. The purchase is final.
  2. You pay $1.99 and a technical fault on our side means your listing is never displayed at all. → refunded, whenever you flag it.
  3. We reject your listing for impersonating an existing company. Payment accepted but listing withheld → automatic full refund; see Terms §5.2. Rejection never costs you the $1.99.
  4. Your reign lasts 47 minutes. Delivered as promised → final sale.

4. Exceptions

  1. No refund where the underlying payment later fails, bounces, or is reversed, or where the purchase shows abuse patterns we detect (stolen cards, card-testing, automated purchasing). Fraudulent reigns are voided regardless of length.
  2. Displacement by the very next legitimate purchase is not itself evidence of fraud — but if a burst of suspicious charges ever displaces you, we may proactively refund everyone affected; that’s our call to make and our cost to eat.

5. Please don’t charge back — just email us

  1. A card dispute (chargeback) costs us roughly 15–20× the $1.99 price in fees, which genuinely hurts a project this small. Every question about a charge should be a two-line email instead: support@bidyourstartup.com.
  2. Chargebacks filed without first contacting us, contrary to this policy, may lead us to block future purchases from that payment method, and we will contest disputes whose facts contradict this published policy with these records: your payment confirmation, the displayed listing, and the public reign timer.
  3. If you genuinely believe a charge is fraudulent and you never made it, contact your bank normally — that’s exactly what disputes are for. This section is about regretting a $1.99 you did spend.
